WEST BENGAL KHADI & VILLAGE INDUSTRIES BOARD
Organization and its objective:-Khadi and Village industries have the unique capacity to generate large employment opportunities in the rural areas at a low capital cost as well as creates entrepreneurship development and have therefore occupied an important place in the national economy. These Industries develop local initiatives, co-operation and spirit of self reliance in the economy and at the same time help in utilization of available manpower and other local resources in rural area through appropriate technology.
West Bengal Khadi and Village Industries Board, a statutory Board under Govt. of West Bengal is working with the above objective since 1959.
Boards Activities at a Glance.
Implementing Agency :-
(i) Khadi Activities.:- Registered Institution/ Co-operative Society and Trust body certified by K. V. I. C. / K. V. I. B. are eligible to undertake Khadi activities with the financial assistance directly from K.V.I.C. / K.V.I.B. or from any commercial / Co-operative under interest subsidy scheme. The following support / Services are provided by K.V.I.C. / K.V.I.B. for promotion of Khadi activities.
(i) Working capital assistance to certified Khadi organization under Interest Subsidy scheme
(ii) Marketing assistance to certified Khadi Institution / Society on retail sale of different

GUIDELINES ON PRIME MINISTER’S EMPLOYMENT
Government of India has introduced a new credit linked subsidy programme called Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme(PMEGP) by merging the two schemes
i) To generate employment opportunities in rural as well as urban areas of the country through

(iii) For setting up of project costing above Rs.10.00 lakh in the manufacturing Sector and above
(iv) Assistance under the scheme is available only for new projects sanctioned specially under
